Evidence before confidence

A large number on screen may look precise without being reliable. The right question is not only “what is the value?” but “what evidence supports this indication?”.

01

Field-level provenance

Address, area, price, year, rent and documents do not have equal quality because they share a form. Each field should retain its source, date, collection method and verification status.

02

Measurable uncertainty

Ranges should be calibrated on unseen transactions and reviewed by area, property type and data density. Until then, they are labelled sensitivities rather than probabilities.

03

Abstention is a feature

When relevant data is insufficient, declining to produce a final value is the most useful answer. Abstention protects the user and creates a clear backlog of evidence to obtain.
